Jeremiah 1  God Will Guide Your Life

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

Today I was to see at doctor at 3:20. The drive from Wingate to the Pineville office takes about an hour. When I walk in the waiting room is empty and the lady at the window informs me the Doctor is in the Monroe office. So there I am at the wrong office! You can’t hurry down 485 and 74 and be in Monroe in under an hour but I managed to be there at 4:05 and saw the doctor. The reason I mention this is that some days we do dumb stuff that keeps us from doing important stuff.

Jeremiah wasn’t doing any dumb stuff but he did have important stuff to do. God had given him the task to call all of Israel to repentance. When you consider what the prophet was to do it would seem an impossible task. And one which Jeremiah didn’t feel up to doing. This is what makes the verse significant for you.

Your life is what you make it but God also guides it. Before you were born He had a purpose for you and appointed you to the work. Everyday may seem just like another day and filled with ups and downs, mistakes and successes but everyday is a growing day. For every and each day God is equipping and preparing you for His work. What we need to realize is that each one of those days we are not only being prepared but are having POP Quizzes!

God’s preparation is daily and each day He is giving us little opportunities to serve and to build trust. Those little pop quizzes will give us confidence to handle the BIG tests when they come.

Today I was in the wrong place at the wrong time but God used that to teach me two things: (1) even when you make a mistake all is not lost (2) I was in the wrong place at the wrong time so that I might be in the right place at the opportune time. You see I sat next to a person who needed comfort and encouragement in the waiting room.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." God will give you what you need to serve Him so never be afraid to go where He leads.
